Qigong
There are many different systems of qigong (pronounce chee gong). Sometimes, a specific kind of qigong has a specific name which is often registered (r). Certain masters want to protect their system and differentiate it from other systems because they think their qigong is superior (and in some cases it really is).
The Qigong that I teach is the result of years of intensive study with several teachers (the most important ones are Dr. Shen H. and Zhixing Wang), and a reflection of a continuous process of self-realization and growing spiritual awareness.
What is Qigong?
Qigong is a system of gentle exercises and postures with emphasis on breathing and visualization. Although Qigong has become a word with a wide variety of meanings and interpretations, a simple and correct definition is:
Qigong is a method to cultivate the Qi or Life Energy.
A more detailed definition of the terms Qi and Qigong can be found here.
Our Qigong practice encompasses movement, concentration and meditation and aims at developing and exploring internal forces for self-healing and transformation. Regular practice enhances physical & emotional healing and spiritual growth.
Transformation
The purpose of our practice is to cleanse the energetic body from all negative emotions
so that we can more easily connect to our higher Self and open ourselves up to the Divine.
The purpose of our practice is to clean the energetic body (including the energy field around the body or external Qi, and the internal Qi or energy that circulates through the channels and meridians in our physical body) from all negative emotions (hate, anger, grief, sorrow, jealousy, which ultimately all stem from “fear”) so that we can more easily connect to our higher Self and open ourselves to the Divine, the eternal and omnipresent force that is the source of all that is (God, Goddess, Spirit, Universal Qi…).
Qigong practice can help release emotions that are stored in our body and restore the balance in our emotional, mental and physical being. So, we can become spiritually more “whole”.
Keeping the energy channels in our body open will prevent emotional information from getting stored. The Qi related to those emotions passes through our system more easily and is faster released. As a result, we remain in a more balanced and less emotionally charged state of being.
When we meditate regularly (on nothing, on the true nature of our emotions, or on the true nature of our Selves), we can transform ourselves and allow more love in our state of be-ing. We will realize that we are beings of love, and when we are love and do loving things, we can be ultimately happy and re-connect with the source of Universal Qi (become one with God again).
It is good to be reminded that we can always define who we are and our emotions will change accordingly. Our feelings are a response to who we are. Who we are is not a response, it is a choice!
Feelings are a response to who we are. Who we are, is a choice!
Self-healing
The activation of the internal energy system through Qigong Postures, Daoyin (movement exercises) and Qigong Meditation also has wonderful self-healing effects.
The concept of Binqi or sick Qi (distorted, stagnated energy) is very important to understand the healing effects of our Qigong practice.
Qigong Postures aim at spontaneous movement through activating the dantien (energy center in the lower abdomen) and opening the 5 main channels so that stored emotions can be released and diseased Qi expelled from the body. As a result, spontaneous healing often occurs on the physical level and the emotional level (even past-life trauma may be healed).
Daoyin exercises complement this process by further expelling diseased energy through movement, breathing and concentration. Different daoyin exercises focus on specific circulations and specific parts of the body that require additional healing.
Qigong Meditation is another method to enhance the self-healing process. Meditation techniques can help to activate the energy system, eliminate Binqi from the body and heal diseased and problem areas. In addition, meditation is a powerful tool for transformation. When we are free of disturbing thoughts, negative emotions and diseased energy, it becomes easier to be quiet (a simple definition of meditation, “to be quiet”) and to connect to our higher Self. To be more aligned with our Self means to be spiritually more balanced, and so we can eliminate many primary causes of dis-ease.
Healing and transformation go together. In fact, healing IS transformation, and transformation leads to healing.
Healing is transformation, and transformation leads to healing.
Prevention is better than cure
It is a fact that regular practice of qigong or taijiquan keeps you healthy. This is especially important in today's world where health insurance is not always available to everyone. 'Prevention is better than cure' has become more important than ever!
And when you get ill, just practice the appropriate healing exercises for 5 to 10 minutes per day so that your body organism will quickly become strong again.
Prevention is better than cure.
